Our first step is to start thinking about the business and marketing BEFORE we build your site. This begins by us fully understanding your business: your products, competition, target market, and goals. We then help to find problems, both realized and not, and then work to build solutions to solve these problems. This step is crucial to creating a web presence that will help build your business.
The content is extremely important because it is what speaks to your end client to let them know about the problems you can solve for them. Because of this, we work on content before the design process even starts. First we deliver a sitemap and wireframes, outlining what pages will be on the site and the purpose/functionality of each one.
We will also have our copywriters work with you on crafting content that will help sell your product or service and a partner photographer will come out to take amazing professional photos of the location, staff, and any other element we need.
Once the wireframes have been approved, we will start designing out your site. We will start by coming up with a branded style guide unique to your business and then work to build a custom and competitive design. We do this by taking a list of site you like and identify the look and feel you want your site to evoke. We will present a design concept, usually the homepage and 2 interior pages, and allow you to make adjustments as needed.
Once the design is approved, we turn that design into a fully functional site. Our sites are built on an easy to use content management system, Wordpress, so that you can easily go in and edit the site once it is handed off to you. This empowers you to regularly publish & edit content, if you so choose.
After your site is developed, we spend a good among of time testing it to make sure it is compatible with the variety of browsers, operating systems, mobile devices, etc. We test all other features on the site as well to ensure flawless functionality for the launch.
With the final approval of the site on our development server, we will move your site to the actual domain. We test every part again to ensure that it is all working after the move. We frequently launch at night to ensure minimal downtime.
We believe you should have control of your own site, if that is what you choose. We will do an in-person training (if local) or one via Skype to show you how to use the site. We will also include instructional videos walking you through those elements so you can refer back to them.
